Building Wonder at Newcastle Brickfest 🧱✨

A LEGO® Fan Event at the Newcastle Jockey Club

Saturday 26th & Sunday 27th September 2026

There’s a quiet buzz that settles across the Newcastle Jockey Club on a Friday afternoon before the doors open to the public. It’s the sound of builders unpacking tubs, aligning lengths of track, and carefully placing the final details on models that have taken months—sometimes years—to pull together. By Saturday morning, that focus turns into pure excitement as thousands of families stream through the entrance.

What began back in 2011 as a single school fundraiser has grown into New South Wales’ biggest LEGO® fan event. Spanning close to 300 tables, Newcastle Brickfest showcases creations from passionate volunteer exhibitors travelling from Queensland, Victoria, the ACT, and right across regional NSW.

Massive LEGO City Layout
Massive collaborative layouts, train setups, and detailed city streets.
Exhibitor talking to attendees
Chat with exhibitors about their techniques and hidden Easter eggs.
Interactive LEGO Play Area
Interactive Build Zones packed with loose bricks for hands-on creativity.
Specialist LEGO Vendor Alley
Vendor Alley: Rare minifigures, retro sets, and loose pieces for your collection.
Cosplayers posing with families
Costumed characters and Star Wars cosplayers delighting kids of all ages.

Walking down the aisles, you quickly realise the weekend is about so much more than just looking at displays. It’s watching an exhibitor take time to show an eight-year-old the clever techniques holding up a soaring skyscraper. It’s grandparents pointing out vintage space sets from their youth, parents racing against the clock with their kids in the Speed Build challenge, and young builders diving hands-first into the brick pits in our Interactive Build Zone. Roaming cosplayers and costumed characters add a touch of magic as they share high-fives and photos throughout the venue.

If you're hunting for a special souvenir or project parts, Vendor Alley is packed with independent LEGO® sellers offering rare minifigures, custom accessories, vintage sets, and loose elements to help you finish your builds at home.

❤️ Building for a Cause

Behind every display table and smiling volunteer is a shared community purpose. Rainbow Bricks is a volunteer-led, not-for-profit club. We aren't doing this for commercial gain; our mission has always been to share a love of the brick and give back directly to the local community.

Every ticket booked and every entry in our Monster LEGO® Raffle directly benefits the John Hunter Children’s Hospital Kids Club. Over the past four years alone, this single event has raised more than $100,000 to purchase vital medical equipment and support young patients and their families across Northern NSW!
