Central Coast Brickfest Celebrates 10 Years with a Parliamentary Shoutout and NBN TV

It was a massive milestone for Rainbow Bricks LUG last month. Celebrating the tenth anniversary of Central Coast Brickfest at Wadalba Community School, the exhibition not only drew hundreds of local LEGO fans but also caught the attention of the NSW Parliament and the NBN nightly news.

Officially on the Record in NSW Parliament

On Wednesday, 25 March, David Harris, the Member for Wyong, stood in the Legislative Assembly and delivered a Community Recognition Statement dedicated entirely to our 10th-anniversary event.

Mr Harris highlighted the sheer scale of the exhibition, noting the 100-plus display tables, the sprawling Star Wars builds, and the incredibly detailed village layouts. More importantly, he officially acknowledged the hundreds of hours our volunteer builders spend designing, building, and perfecting their displays just to share them with the Central Coast community.

Making the Evening News

The recognition didn't stop in parliament. The exhibition also featured a visit from NBN TV. Journalist Lauren Evans and the crew came down to capture the magic of the day, speaking with organisers and builders for a segment titled "Lego lovers out in force for annual Brickfest." It was brilliant to see the intricate displays and the excited crowds broadcast across the region.

Building for a Cause

For those who might be new to what we do, Rainbow Bricks LUG is a not-for-profit community of around 150 passionate builders. We run eight exhibitions across NSW each year—including our flagship Newcastle Brickfest—with all profits going directly to local charity partners.

We build for the love of the brick, but the community impact is what truly matters. Thanks to the incredible crowds at events like Central Coast Brickfest, we raised over $50,000 in 2025 alone. That brings our total fundraising efforts to over half a million dollars since 2013!
