Exhibitor Q&A | Newcastle Brickfest

Newcastle Brickfest Exhibitor Q&A

Whether this is your very first time displaying with us or you are travelling from outside the Rainbow Bricks community to join in, we are thrilled to have you! Newcastle Brickfest is NSW's Biggest LEGO® Fan Event, but at its heart, it is all about community, making friends, and supporting a great cause.

Sign-Up & Registration

Q: How do I start the application process?

A: The very first step is to head over to Jumper Plate. You will need to either create a brand new account or simply link your existing Jumper Plate account if you already have one. The good news is you only ever have to do this step once! We keep a close eye on new sign-ups and will approve your account as quickly as possible.

🔐 Go to Jumper Plate Portal to Sign up

Q: My Jumper Plate account is approved! What is next?

A: Perfect! Now that you are set up on the platform, you can officially register for Newcastle Brickfest. When you are filling out the form, just make sure you select the option to register as a "Public Exhibitor".

Q: When do I get access to the private Exhibitors Facebook Group?

A: Once you have registered on Jumper Plate and your application has been officially accepted by our team, keep an eye on your notifications. We will send you an invite to join the private Exhibitors Group on Facebook, which is where all the important event updates and community chats happen.

Q: Are tablecloths provided for my display tables?

A: We ask that all exhibitors purchase their own tablecloths for their displays. If you already have them, just bring them with you. The great thing is that once you buy them, they are entirely yours to keep, so you can easily reuse them for any other events you exhibit at down the track!

There is a post in the Exhibitor Group for you let us know if you need tablecloths and how many.

The Event Weekend

Q: When can I set up my display?

A: To make things as relaxed as possible and avoid the rush of previous years, we have a dedicated setup day on Friday, starting from midday. You will also have a few hours on Saturday morning to finalise things before the doors open to the public at 10 am.

Q: What are the opening hours for the weekend?

A: Here is a quick rundown:

Saturday: Open to the public from 10:00 am to 5pm.

Sunday: We kick off with a special quiet Sensory Session from 9:00 am to 10:30 am, followed by standard public sessions.

Pack down: The event finishes at 4:00 pm on Sunday. We've brought this forward so everyone—especially those travelling from further afield—can get on the road home a bit quicker.

Q: Can my family come along? Do they need to buy tickets?

A: Absolutely! Family members are your support system, and we highly encourage them to join you over the weekend. Because charity begins at home, we do not expect you to purchase tickets for your immediate family/support crew. If you are ever unsure about who you can bring, just send a PM and we can chat.

Q: Is there a chance to catch up with other builders socially?

A: Definitely. The community vibe is what makes Newcastle our flagship event! We host a social dinner on Saturday night, which is a fantastic opportunity to meet new friends, catch up with old ones, and talk all things brick. You and your family are more than welcome to join us.

Q: Can I sell some of my loose LEGO parts, minifigures, or sets from my display table?

A: No, selling or trading on the exhibition floor is strictly prohibited unless you are an official Rainbow Bricks retailer. Our approved retailers go through a strict vetting process (they pay a retailer fee, must hold their own insurance, and provide double the display space) to trade at our events. If visitors approach you on the floor wanting to buy your display or sell their own collections, please politely decline and let them know it's not permitted.

Q: Who does the event actually support?

A: Every Brickfest is run to raise funds for our charity partner, the John Hunter Children's Hospital Kids Club. The hospital doesn't just support kids in the Hunter Valley; they help families across the whole of Northern NSW. Thanks to our amazing exhibitors and volunteers, we were able to donate over $30,000 to them last year!

Q: What if I have a question during the event?

A: Just look for anyone in a Rainbow Bricks crew shirt! We are a friendly bunch, and we are here to make sure you have a fun, relaxed, and brilliant weekend displaying your creations.
