AFOL
Adult Fan of LEGO. The heart of our community!
TFOL / KFOL
Teen/Kid Fan of LEGO. Our builders of the future.
RLUG
Recognized LEGO User Group. (Like us, Rainbow Bricks!)

Essential Building Terms

MOC
My Own Creation. An original, non-instructional design.
NPU
Nice Part Usage. Using a LEGO piece in a clever or unexpected way (e.g., using a croissant for architectural detail!).
WIP
Work In Progress. A build that isn't finished yet—often seen on tables at "Talk and Sort" nights!
SNOT
Studs Not On Top. A technique used to achieve smooth, brick-less surfaces.
Greebling
Adding small details to a build to give it a mechanical or textured look.
BURP / LURP
Big/Little Ugly Rock Piece. The pre-molded mountain elements.
MOD
Modification. Altering an official set to suit your own style.
POOP
Part Out of Other Parts. A large piece that could have been built with smaller bricks.
