REVIEW: Maitland Brickfest

November 30th, 2018

Rainbow Bricks Presents
Maitland Brickfest
A LEGO Fan Event

Date: Sunday 18th November
Venue: Maitland High School

We were back at Maitland after a three year break. It was a perfect day for a LEGO event and resulted in a great crowd. This family-friendly community event supported Largs Public School and Maitland Cub Scouts.

There were 35 Rainbow Bricks exhibitors from across the Hunter, Port Stephens and Central Coast displaying their creations and collections for the public to enjoy. There was everything from Star Wars to Friends on display, sets from the 80s to the latest releases and some amazing creations for everyone to enjoy.

In addition, to celebrate the release of the latest Fantastic Beast film, we had a large selection of new and old Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts sets and MOC on display which the crowd loved. The Rainbow City layout had another upgrade with the introduction of train ballast, more landscaping and working lights for the police vehicles. The city also got it first set of working traffic lights.

As well as the amazing creations and collections on display there will be many activities for the kids to enjoy. The Build Area is always a favorite plus the Remote Control Driving Area where the kids and the young at heart can drive the RC Trackers was popular.

We also had our new Train Tower building activity at Maitland, which proved another success. The kids and some adults who really got involved as the tower got taller had fun with the new activity.

The principle of the Largs Public School was very appreciative of the effort, the exhibitors and the organisers put into the event.

Rainbow Bricks loved supporting these local groups and will be back again in 2019.

REVIEW: Bateau Bay Brickfest

November 7th, 2018

Bateau Bay Brickfest
A LEGO Fan Event
Presented by Rainbow Bricks

Date: 21st October 2018
Venue: Bateau Bay PCYC, NSW Australia

Rainbow Bricks visited the Central Coast suburb of Bateau Bay on Sunday 21st October.

Rainbow Bricks members traveled from Sydney, Newcastle, Port Stephens, The Hunter Valley, plus, of course, local Central Coast Members to display their various creations/collections to an appreciative crowd. There were displays for everyone to enjoy from Star Wars to Elves and the Taj Mahor to the latest James Bond DB5 model.

The always popular RC Trackers Driving Area and Build Areas were crowded all day.

Despite the wet weather, the family-friendly community day was a huge success with lots of positive feedback from the public and some inquiries on exhibiting. The profits from the day supported Brooke Avenue Public School P&C and the Bateau Bay PCYC.

The many new exhibitors who displayed there had a great day and are already planning their next builds to display!

Thank You to everyone who came along and supported the event. Additionally, Thank you to everyone who shared our community event with their friends and family.

We look forward to returning to the Central Coast again in 2019. :-)
