UPCOMING EVENT: Newcastle Brickfest

April 2nd, 2019

Rainbow Bricks Presents
NEWCASTLE BRICKFEST 2019
A LEGO Fan Event

Rainbow Bricks is excited to be returning again in 2019!

Newcastle Brickfest is Newcastle's first and longest running LEGO Fan event. It’s a community event, created by local volunteer LEGO fans, for LEGO Fans of all ages, showcasing LEGO creations and collections from across NSW.

Once again we are supporting Hunter Schools and Charities with the proceeds from this family friend, community event.

Original creations and displays of LEGO themes will impress and inspire kids of all ages. Interact with the exhibitors, ask them about their displays and LEGO in general. Plus we will have the always popular City Layout back again with working trains. As well as, all the displays, there will be lots of activities for everyone to enjoy on the day.

This year we have added Saturday afternoon sessions for those of you who can’t make it on the Sunday.

We are also being joined by our Cosplaying friends from the Hunter Heroes, the Saurus Squad and Star Wars Characters!

This is a family friend, not for profit event, which has been supporting Newcastle charities. Over the previous 5 years we have been able to donated $50,000 to schools and charities Newcastle Brickfest has supported.

LEGO Activities:

Build Area - An area for the kids to build after being inspired by the exhibitors creations.

Speed Builds - This popular competition returns and will run each hour. You have just 3 minutes and a random selection of parts to build something. What will you create?

Tower Building - Help us build a huge tower with LEGO and LEGO Train Track.

Remote Control Trackers - Control the RC Tracker set in our driving area.

LEGO 10255 Assembly Square Mirror Image Speed Build

March 2nd, 2017

SET NUMBER: 10255

NAME: Assembly Square

Parts: 4,002

Over a couple of weekends we built the new modular set from LEGO, 10255 Assembly Square. This is the 10th Anniversary modular.

We spent about 12 hours building the set and there are lots of great details and build technics. As well as many new elements and old elements in new colours.

To make the building different to most others we decided to build it mirror image. This was not an issue apart from one peiece [part of the stairs] which needed a different part to what was supplied and we didn't have the right one either. But it was easily fixed and is interior so no one will see it when the build is on display.

The second modification made after the build was completed was to spread the build over 2 base plates. This makes the modular easier to fit into Rainbow Bricks city layouts for RBL events.

There are great details in each of the different shops, offices and apartments.

SHOW REVIEW: Halliday Point Brickfest

February 20th, 2017

Rainbow Bricks Presents
Hallidays Point Brickfest
A LEGO Fan Event

For those of you who missed the event or wanted to see the exhibits again follow the link below.

As result of 2016 successful event we move to a larger venue. Which was great because we had double the number of exhibitors as we in 2016.

The new venue was a great success allowing people to stay longer and enjoy the builds on display. The exhibitors all had a great day talking to everyone about their creations or LEGO in general.

We hope you had enjoyable time and hope to see you again in 2018 when we return!
